In crazy times we need simple rules.

On the internet, in the news, there are so many discussions and opinions about everything that is going on.

In some cases, it’s almost impossible for me not to engage. Luckily I’ve one heuristic that reminds me that in most cases, it’s completely useless. My rule:

“Never listen to people without skin in the game.”

Thanks to this idea I can keep peace from mind. Well.. most of the time 😉

I created this heuristic based on the idea from Mr. Taleb; ‘Don’t tell me what you “think” show me your portfolio’.

This is the reason why I like working together with entrepreneurs.

This morning I read a great essay from Sam Altman which I highly recommend. The TLDR version is:

‘Stay away from people who are world-weary and belittle your ambitions. Unfortunately, this is most of the world.’

Couldn’t agree more. Here you’ll find the whole article.

And where are the big ideas coming from? Just follow the numbers.
